Book Talk Question #2

What is the setting of your story and how does it compare to the setting in which you live? What is similar? What is different? Do you think the setting will change drastically throughout your book? What will be the different settings? Make a prediction.

  1. The setting in Hatchet is a deserted island, however this is very different from where we live because Prince Rupert is city and is also known as Kaien island so actually there are some similarities. Also it seems like it has a lot of Trees, Mountains and grass lands so it is kind of like Prince Rupert’s landscape.

  2. The setting of the book Hatchet is somewhere in the Canadian Wilderness. Well, we pretty much live in the forest. There are trees, bushes, lakes, and if you go farther or out of Prince Rupert, you will be in the forest. Its different because there are no oceans in the forest. It would be actually kind of weird if there was. But, he does have some sorce of water which is a lake. And it will always be different by having no towns, or cars, or barely any humans in the middle of nowhere. I don't really think the settings will change, because all the book is really about is being in the Wilderness.

  3. The setting in my story is on a plane, lake and canadian wilderness. We live in Canada we live in the wilderness. It's different because we dont live by many lakes. Yes I think he is going to find food and shelter. It will be flatter. I think he'll run into some animals.
